The budgies bickering |

I'm back online! ...after a month-long absence because everything in this country takes so frickin' LONG!!
On Friday evening I went drinking with my class because the three exchange students from Paris were going home soon. Was a lot of fun!! Saturday I went to Kamakura (where the BIIIIGG!! Buddha is) with the whole Oyama House where I lived before... Yonmi was going back to Korea, so we wanted to go see some culture with her before she left. This week is Culture Week at school so there's not that much to do except there'll be a 8hr test on Thursday... aaaugh!! (-_-;;) ...I just dropped in today to give Kasuya-sensei my pants and shirt because they're going to take pictures... or something similar.
OK. Need to shove Napoleon and Josephine, our budgies, back into their cage because I need to go shopping for today's dinner. I wanna try making Chijimi. Yum!

...I only slept 3 hours, but I finished and turned in the pants!!
...turns out it was only 3 OUT OF 18 who managed to finish the buggers. WOW. Kasuya-sensei was absolutely horrified and said he'd have to talk to the other teachers about it.
...when I walked out of the classroom I noticed though that I forgot basting the belt to the seam allowance. aargh. Still, it's not the biggest mishap of all and it can't be seen from the outside except by scrutinizing teachers so it's fine. *sigh of relief*
...I go home and sleep now. (--)zzzzz

I became internet-less!! somehow since yesterday morning the internet at home is down so I'm now writing this notice to everyone from the internet station at Famima, saying that I will possibly be late with replying to any mails because of said lacking access of internet. Ours is due to arrive next week, around the 23rd... graaaah.
hm... but while we're at it, a bit of current info:
sewing men's pants is one tricky puzzle. XD I did my best and Kasuya-sensei said my pants were looking cool, and as I can't possibly disappoint him (my teacher is so nice. I'm a terrible fangirl... kasuya-senseeeeeiiiiii...!!! ;;) so I hope I can do it until Friday morning but actually I really don't know, sewing all the bits by hand takes so frickin' long time... ^^;
We got a washing machine. We got a cute bright red fridge. I bought a shampoo bottle in the shape of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant which flaps its ears when you pump. We made a rockin' Cesar Salad yesterday, complete with bacon bits, poached egg, and garlic toast on the side. And it was awesome!! Abe-chan got used to being the houseman and is washing, cooking, and cleaning like a hero (so I forgive him gaming 2 hours at night), he also gets me from the station at night from time to time which is nice.
Ikea Hotdogs are totally awesome. The weather is good and warm autumn-ish.
...and that's about all for the moment. :)

Today after school Abe-chan and I went to IKEA in Shin-Yokohama. Yes it's a hassle to go there but Ikea's cool so we thought we could maybe go buy the rest of our apartment stuff there. And YARR. They have exactly the same things as in a Swiss or Swedish Ikea, it's not more expensive, and they even had a POTATO MASHER!! Hmmm.... it was 1200yen but I still had to get it... Mashed potatoes and minestrone soup... how I missed ya all. (;;)
We also bought a few nice plates in apple green and with flower design and a colourful kitchen rug and tons of stuff and didn't spend much more than 5000yen each. Awesome. After the washing mashine and our red refrigerator have come early next week, it'll be nearly complete and ready to invite people and take pictures of!! :3
I did however miscalculate the width of my window/terrace door and bought two bamboo blinds that are a whoppin' 80cm too wide combined. Aargh. I told Abe-chan I was going back to Ikea on Sunday or so to change it, and he goes "........." I say "if you give me the receipt, you don't have to come with me, don't worry!" - "...............I threw it away."
*face>desk*
If he'd been a WOMAN he wouldn't have thrown away that receipt, I'm sure. *sigh* But a good cut with a pair of sharp scissors and a cheap fretsaw will do the trick too. I mean, I have a man in the house with time on his hands to do this for me. *snicker*
Also- Ikea has those awesome 100yen hot dogs. YUMM.

People, I just moved house and noticed that I can mooch off the wireless net off my neighbours so I'll still be fully contactable as far as I know! XDD It also means we can save 5000yen on Internet bills. WIN!!
Maybe if the weather is bad the connetion will break but for the moment I'm up and sending!! :D

I'm back safely from Korea without too much trouble. Although it's less than 2 hours flight away from Japan, it's honestly a whole new world! Much more... typically Asian, you could say. Also the food is awesome and cheap, but for that in the designed "food post".
As I took an assload of pictures, it's all under the cut.

As predicted, I slept in late but still I was the first to turn in the shirt on Friday. *does skippy dance* Everybody went like "this looks like bought in a store!" and "you could totally sell that!". Kasuya-sensei just gave me an appreciating nod and another slap on the back.
When giving back the sewn things, our teacher always lines up the best 5 or so in the front of the row to show the others how it should be done. Well if mine's not there I'll be sad. XD
...and I think I'm in love. ....with shirt making. It's AWESOME!! <3 There might only be few better-looking things than a nicely tailoured men's Yshirt with crisp lines and collar and cuffs so heavily interfaced that they creak when you bend them. And... there's so many lovely fabrics.... well I have my eyes on a white semi-transparent fabric with broad dark blue and bright violet stripes which will definitely look fabulous as a shirt, and as soon as I sold a few of my DVDs and CDs to raise funds I'll be off to Akihabara and get that fabric and make another rockin' shirt.
...plans for silver jeans are on their way too. mrow!! :3

Two days ago, early in the morning at 6.30, I went down to take a shower as always before getting ready for school. So I come back to my room all wrapped up in my towel-
but what do I find crawling in my futon? THIS!
I can't have with people abusing my futon in the morning, so I drop-kicked the impostor and questioned him.
Turns out it was Abe-chan who had to go to the bathroom (which is upstairs) and was too tired and sleepy to go back downstairs to the other end of the hallway. My room was much closer, he said. Go figure. XD
....and yes, this kind of happening.... tends to happen in this house quite often. It seems Oyama attracts weirdos only XDD

...it's DONE!! And even 2 days in advance. :3
This morning I was the first to finish attaching the collar which our teacher Kasuya-sensei answered with a rather painful slap on the back and a loud "yaru jan!!" (you rock, or something similar) and then he proceeded telling the others how to do it. XDD
...tomorrow I'll be in for a last check, and when I have recieved the absolution I'll try to go make an appointment for getting the buttonholes done too.
I'm mightily pleased with how it turned out. Kinda 30's Al Capone- Italian style. XD
..pictures to come, as soon as I managed to hunt down my victim model.

Who would have thought that sewing a simple men's shirt could be so tiring? I'm head-to-head with another guy from my class on being the fastest, but even I worry if I manage to finish that bugger in time... Also the fact that I like cutting stripe fabric in the bias to have a nice diagonal pattern doesn't actually help to speed up the process and cost me HOURS.
Ah well. I think I'm going to have a good-looking shirt. For the moment, it's 1AM and my nose is blocked (first cold of the season, here I come, wheee!!) and all I want to do is sleep. There'll be time tomorrow.
Except from that, I'm fine. :)

Franz Ferdinand- Your Diary |
] |
sorry for the long absence! I spent last week helping our art director Franck categorizing clothes for the show, so I spent quite some afternoons taking pictures and shuffling clothes hangers. But it was fun :3
And finally this week we started with Men's shirts! I never knew it'd be this difficult to find proper shirt fabrics! Yesterday and today I spent the whole day running around the city (from Ebisu to Shinjuku, Nippori, and Akihabara) in search for shirt fabrics but it was only exhausting. There's a special store that sells Men's business shirt- fabric ONLY. They had an impressive collection of white and light blue fabrics, but nothing in black with thin white stripes, as I'd need!! AAAARGH!
...well I did find one normal cotton fabric with stripes so I'll show that to my teacher tomorrow. If it's not ok I'll resort to either the half-transparent black silk-mix or the black mercerised cotton with satin stripes. Although they look rather hosty. XDD
